The Esther Guild is a women’s mercy ministry. As a guild, we seek to provide hospitality, care, and love to our church, school, and seminary families as well as our local community and missions beyond. We invite women of all ages to join us every other Thursday morning from September to May. We meet at church at 9:15 a.m. for two hours. Childcare is provided for moms with young ones. Each meeting is opened with a devotion and a small business meeting. We then share refreshments and fellowship as we work on our service projects. Some projects and events we take part in are providing Harvest fruit baskets to our widows and widowers and special friends in church, hosting a Senior Ladies’ Tea and Men’s Dinner, making meals for those in need, serving refreshments after funerals within the church family, small hand crafts or supply drives for ministries such as St. John’s Home, Mel Trotter Ministries, Alpha Women’s Center, the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans, Nakekela Aids Clinic in South Africa, and Agua Viva Ministries in Mexico. We also seek to come around our widows, widowers, and those in need with visits, cards, and tokens of love and care. In short, we desire to be the hands and feet of Christ to those around us.
